Design of new or replacement roofing and waterproofing systems

When a system requires replacement, we start in the field, evaluating current conditions of all existing components to determine what can be salvaged at reasonable cost and what must be replaced.

We utilize non-destructive methods where practical, and destructive methods as necessary, to establish current substrate conditions. Walls, penetrations, deck attachments, drains, wall flashings and other components are all carefully examined and documented with field drawings, photographs and extracted samples to ensure we have an accurate understanding of the existing system.

Design of the new system or systems is an iterative process. After we determine what is causing the failure or threatened failure, we generate recommendations for review by our client to ensure the new systems meet or exceed expectations. The final design documents are produced electronically, using the latest versions of word processing software and CAD (AutoCAD and MicroStation). All reproduction is done by Stafford at our own facilities.

Documents can be prepared in CSI, AIA-MasterSpec format or in a format designed specifically by Stafford for roofing and waterproofing projects.
